June 6th. Another fine morning for the nineteen golfers who turned out including another new member Jim Townson who was welcomed in to the section by Dave Thomson.Due to odd numbers the comp. for the day was an Am-Am in 1x4-ball off 9/10 h/c and 5x3-balls off full h/c. In third place with 81 points were; Dave Thomson, Steve Peverley and new man Jim Townson.Second with 90 points were;Eddie Pearson,Peter Walters and Clive Boyes. The winners with a magnificent 92 points were; Paul Antcliff and Joe Wedgner having returned from their Rest and Recovery sabatical in sunnier climes and ably assisted by Ian Harris.  

June 4th. A pleasant morning for the 23 senior golfers who gathered to play an Am-Am in 2x4 balls off 9/10 h/c and 5x3 balls off full h/c. In third place with 84 points and recovering their stake were Alan Heastey,Bob Gilberdale and Ben Wright. Second with 88 points were, new  member Steve Carmichael making his mark, John Swallow and Jeremy Glover. The winners with splendid 90 points; Kevin Fitzsimmons , Steve Peverley and Jim Loose.  

May 30th. A fine morning after overnight showers was sufficient to entice 20 golfers from their beds including new member Steve Carmichael who was introduced to the group.The comp for the day was a Texas scramble off blue tees in 5 x 4-balls. Scoring turned out to be very competitive with only 0.5 point seperating the 5 teams. The first and second placed both carded 64.4 but on a countback the team of Frank Price,Steve Peverley,Steve Barton and Clive Boyes just lost out to Dave Thomson ,Peter Martin, Frank Kitchener and Alan Heastey .A  good days golf in this format enjoyed by all .     

May 28th.  A damp cloudy morning after overnight rain greeted the 18 golfers  who turned out despite the threat of further showers. Competition for the day was a "Waltz". Fortunately the rain held off and all completed a full round.  The winners with 79 points were; Kevin Fitzimmons,Colin Day and Jim Loose. A close second with 78 points; Ben Wright, Eddie Pearson and Clive Boyes. Third placed and recovering thier stake with 72 points were; Phil Naylor ,John Swallow and John Mullins. 

May 23rd. A cloudy calm morning for the nineteen golfers turning out for an Am-Am Competition in the format of 4x4 balls off 9/10 h/c and 1x3-ball off full h/c.The sun came out later to make for ideal conditions for all to enjoy the golf and create some competitive scores with only seven points seperating first and last places.In second place with 88 points were;  Phil Naylor, Ben Wright and Steve Barton. The winners with a splendid 90 points were ; John Swallow,Alan Heistey Steve Peverley and Jeff Smith.

May 21st. Again 7 unselectables made an appearance on a beautiful fresh morning. It was decided to play an individual stableford off full handicaps. Scoring was far from easy and John Swallow took first place with36 points, John Read was second with 35 and Colin Day was third with 34.

May 21st.  A fine day  for the match against Cottingham and a superb days golf. It was very gratifying to hear the comments of the Cottingham Captain regarding the superb condition of the Ganstead Links.The match was tightly contested and the result was a half.Oggies' carvery rounded off an excellent day.

May 16th. Seventeen golfers turned out for the rescheduled First round of the Summer Comp. Individual Stableford Qualifier having been cancelled from the previous week due to inclement weather. The winners of the sweep on the day were in third place with 33 points Eddie Pearson . Second placed with 34 points was Roger Featherstone and in first place also with 34 points on a countback was Joe Wedgner.

May 14th. There was a record turnout of 30 players influenced no doubt by the predicted summer-like weather on offer. The comp for the day was an Am-Am (6x4-balls off 9/10 h/c and 2x3 balls off full h/c ). In third place with a creditable 83 points and recovering their stake were; Steve Broughton, Andy Garside ,Jim Loose and Trevor Olsen.In second place with 86 points were Steve Peverley, Ian Harris, Bryan Drake and Jeff Smith. But the winners with a superb 87 points were ; Roger Featherstone,Dave Thomson ,Joe Wedgner and Clive Boyes.

May 9th. Due to the low turnout and the inclement weather it was decided not to hold the first round of the Summer Comp. It will now be held next Thursday (16th) off the Yellow Tees.

May 7th. Twas a cloudy overcast morning with some showers forecast later as seven unselectables turned up to play an individual stableford whilst the superstars entertained Sutton Golf Seniors in an interclub fixture. In first place on a countback with 33 points was Phil Naylor whilst John Read also with 33 points came second.

May 7th. The interclub fixture with Sutton GC was traditionally to contest the first home leg of the Joe Hawksworth Trophy but unfortunately Sutton could only raise a team of twelve and hence it was agreed to play an Am-Am on this occasion in 6 mixed teams of four and defer the trophy till later. In second place with 78 points were: Colin Newton, Eddie Pearson , Andy Nicholls,and Alex Coope. But the winners with 81 points were; Joe Wedgner, Jim Loose, Alex Quisell, and Billy Docherty. May 2nd. Twas a bright but cooler morning with the threat of rain later in the day but seventeen members still turned out for an Am-Am Comp. ( 3x3 balls and 2x4balls).In second place with 77 points were the 3-ball of: Paul Ancliff, Steve Peverley and Clive Boyes. In first place with 82 points were ; Jeff Smith, Brian Drake, Dave Thomson and Eddie Pearson.
